In maths, children have been continuing their work on fractions.  Pupils have looked at equivalent fractions, fractions of amounts and comparing fractions in their lessons.  We will move on to solving fraction word problems next.

In English, pupils have written a persuasive letter using a well known fairytale ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ as the topic.  Pupils have continued with their weekly SPAG lessons focussing on using apostrophes for contractions and demarcating sentences correctly with a range of punctuation.

In science, children have investigated how water is transported in a plant and they set up their own experiments with flower heads, celery, water and food dye to observe how water moves in a plant.

In topic, pupils have created simple flamenco rhythms using their feet and hands.  They have identified which instruments are used in this type of music, it’s origins and how dancers use this style of music to inspire their dancing.

In French, children have learnt new vocabulary associated with the weather
