Over the last few years Kings Caple have taken part in the Mervyn Morgan Tree Planting Project (MMTPP). Mr Morgan was a keen environmentalist and concerned to protect the countryside in the Herefordshire Wye Vally AONB.
In order to increase the number of native trees in this area Mr Morgan wanted to give children attending schools in the AONB a young tree to plant wherever their parents/guardians wished (and as permitted by the landowner) and preferably in a location where the children could watch them grow.
Children in Year 6 are offered the chance of choosing a tree from a selection of hazel, small leaved lime and wild cherry. The project will continue year on year with each successive year 6 pupil offered a tree.
Our current Year 6 pupils will have received a letter, please return orders to school as soon as possible so we can pass them to the project.
