Hello and welcome to Kings Caple News Report! We have lots of Christmas-related notice news!
Class 1 News
In English, the children have looked at openings for Little Red Riding Hood and have written three different openings for the story. They have looked at word choices and rearranging sentences to improve their work!
In Maths, they have looked at multiplication and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. Reception have started using our great resource of Boo Zoo Maths – which they have enjoyed and they are starting to find simple addition calculations.
In Art/Topic, the class has opened their Winter Wonderland! The children are creating lots of craft projects such as snowy owls, snowflakes and they are going to add to this over the next few weeks.
In Science, the children are going to be investigating ice!

Class 2 News
In English, the children have been planning an advertisement and writing one too!
In Maths, they have been doing mental and written subtraction!
In Science, the children have been testing and grouping different rocks.
In Topic, they looked at how London was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666.

Class 3 News
In English, the children have been learning about semicolons (used lots in Kings Caple News Report!) and colons. They have also been learning play scripts.
In Maths, they have been doing short division (Year 4) and long division (Year 6). Long division is a super hard method!
In Topic, the children have been learning about The Blitz.

Christmas News
So lots of Christmas News this week including Christmas Lunch, Christmas Play, Christmas Fair & Santa!
The Christmas Play has two performances! One at 13.45 and the other at 18:30. Parents and ‘friends of friends’ welcome! We won’t give too much away but the story involves three little boys (John, Tom and Fin) arguing over a game then two angels (Gabriel and Antonia) come down and the children learn the story of Christmas! 🙂
The Christmas Lunch letters have been given and hopefully signed; by the time this is out the slip date has passed!
Netball
Well done to those of Class 3 in the Netball tournament! You did extremely well (coming 3rd) and so we wish them a very big well done. Also, thank you for the person who stood in when some people were ill and went to Netball tournament – thank you so much for helping!

The Christmas Play is in one week. WE URGE YOU TO LEARN YOUR LINES AS THE STAGE IS ALREADY UP AND THE PERFORMANCE IS IN ONE WEEK!!!
