In English, children have recently adapted their original story maps for ‘Nail Soup’.  They made simple substitutions and additions to alter the mood and ending of the story.  Pupils will now re – write this new version with all of their changes.

In maths, year two children have focussed on solving addition and subtraction word problems.  They have revised their number bonds to 100, used the inverse rule and calculated the answers for two step questions which involve both operations.  Year three pupils continued with fractions, most notably making equivalent fractions and calculating fractions of amounts.  Children will move on to 3D shape next.

In science, pupils investigated which materials were waterproof in an experiment to keep teddy dry and researched famous inventors of everyday materials.

In topic, children explored why cats were sacred animals in Egyptian times and created their own cat masks with different materials.Cat Masks Class 2
