We have been busy the past few weeks on trips to Three Counties and going to practise for our sports day.  The children have been learning about coasts and using an atlas to locate different areas on the UK coastlines. Having looked at the key features of coasts, the children made a class model to demonstrate their understanding.

In computing the children have been looking at more data collection on ISS and used Excel to monitor and record the varying temperatures around the school.

In maths the year 1 have been deepening their understanding of place value for numbers up to and beyond 100. Year 2 have enjoyed a new topic of statistics, understanding how data can be represented in tables using tally marks, bar charts and pictograms.

The class are currently creating their own story about Mr Grinling, the lighthouse keeper, in which he has another catastrophe!  The children were really proud to take home their beautiful clay pieces which they have painted and varnished.
