Given the time of year it is possible that we will see some inclement weather in the coming weeks. It is unusual, but in exceptional circumstances it may become necessary to close the school as a result of for example, bad weather, boiler or power failure.
A decision to close the school is a difficult one and is never taken lightly. Any decision is made by the Headteacher with input from senior management following assessment of the conditions/situation.
If a decision to close is made then Herefordshire Council are informed who then email those subscribed to their school closures list on the Herefordshire Council website. Updates are also posted on X (formerly twitter) @hfdsSchool and also displayed on the Herefordshire Council school closures webpage. As long as it is possible, we will also post a notification of any closure on the school website.
