Class 1 have had a very busy couple of week and were delighted to finish their felt puppets which they designed and then joined.

In English they used this as a introduction into writing instructions and then have moved onto the story of Dick Whittington and are currently writing different story starts for the text.  They have focused on character, setting and using fronted adverbials to open the story.

In maths the class have been investigating shapes both 2-D and 3-D and have looked at the terms edges and vertices and ways to sort the shapes.  Reception have explored circles and 4 sided shapes and are learning new sounds which they are blending beautifully.

In computing the children have used decomposition to help them write instructions and tested them out on their friends in class.  In RE the children have moved onto thinking about the question ‘What is God like?’

For Geography the children have looked at aerial photographs, explored the detailed maps of the old school hall and our school and used these to label their own maps.
