As it is usually every year, World Mental Health Day will be held on Tuesday 10th October. To mark the day in school we are holding a non-school uniform day. The day is in addition to Mental Health Awareness Week which was held earlier this year in May. The theme of the day this year is ‘Mental Health Is a Universal Human Right’. The day aims to raise awareness of mental health and drives to create positive change for everyone’s mental health. Perhaps more importantly, it is an opportunity to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it and how important it is to seek help if someone is struggling.
Both the Mental Health Foundation’s (mentalhealth.org.uk) and the World Health organisation’s (who.int) websites offer lots of information and reading material concerned with looking after mental health, supporting others and perhaps most relevant to us all, the cost of living and mental health.
