The village will be holding a Street Party Jubilee Celebration on 5th June 2022. The event begins at 12.30 with a bring and share picnic by the tump/church (in church if wet). At 3pm there will be a toast to the Queen, eat cake, prize giving, village photo from 3pm. The road leading to the church will be closed from 11am to 6pm. Limited parking. Some tables and chairs will be provided.
There are lots of opportunities to join in the fun leading up to the day:
- Scarecrows – on the theme of the Queen – Get your imagination going and display your creation where everyone can see it before 2nd June. Prize for the best.
- Bake a cake to share at 3pm 9please bring all cakes at 12.30). Enter the cake competition and cause a stir! Decorate a single cake or cup cakes with a royal theme or simply in red, white and blue. Open to all.
- Art competition – create a portrait of the Queen. A4 size max, any medium on paper. Put your name and age on the work in the bottom right hand corner (up to 17 years). Prizes 0-8 years, 9-12 years, 13-16years and 17+ years. Closing date Thursday 26th May – please drop entries into The Gables.
