Class 1 have been busy exploring some of the things animals do in spring including nest building. This week we have watched birds build nests and then tried to do it ourselves after collecting lots of natural materials. The children all agreed trying to build a nest to protect eggs is tricky. We have been looking at the key features of instruction texts and will be using our experience of nest building to write some instructions on how to build a good nest. In maths the whole class have been making sure they can use their number facts in lots of consolidation activities. Our science focus has been looking at how the amount of daylight changes across the seasons. The children considered the clocks changing and the position of the sun.
