In maths, children have been working on place value.  They have identified, represented and written both 2- and 3- digit numbers.  Pupils have investigated the properties of various numbers and used some Tara activities to deepen their understanding of numbers up to 1000.  We will move on to comparing and ordering numbers next.
In English, children have used Talk for Writing to learn the model text, ‘Nail Soup’.  They have created a story map to help them retell the main events and used various time connectives to sequence the story.  Pupils have also identified what nouns are and sorted book titles into fiction or non – fiction.
In topic, pupils have reflected on what they already know about the Great Fire of London and discussed what they would like to find out over the forthcoming weeks.  Children have looked at the differences between country and city landscapes.
In RE, children have explored the importance of the Holy Trinity for Christians.
In French, pupils have practiced basic, conversational greetings associated with their name and how they are feeling.
In science, children have explored the differences between light and dark.  They have also identified various light sources.
