Recycling in School

Recycling in School

In an attempt to do more for the environment and recycling and to help promote the importance of reducing waste to the children, from Monday 18th March we will be collecting the following items in school. We will forward them to either the HCCUG (the Hereford Community Clean Up Group) or Widemarsh Ventures. The latter was developed as a charity that supports vulnerable adults into the world of work with real life work experience in a fully fitted commercial workshop. They use waste materials to produce products which are then sold to the public.

In 4 weeks time HCCUG are taking part in the Great River Wye Spring Clean. They want to build their barge out of used plastic bottles. The barge will be used to collect all the rubbish from the river.

Please place the following items in the appropriate recycling ‘bin’s which will appear in the playground from next Monday. We would ask that all items are clean and washed before they are brought to school

  • Plastic drinks bottles (with their lids);
  • Bottle tops;
  • Drinks cans (not food cans)
  • Electrical cables (computer leads; mobile phone leads.

Thank you in advance for your support.
