In maths, children have been busy learning mental and written methods for addition.  We will be moving on to developing mental and written methods for subtraction next.

In English, children have been busy looking for the features of instructions in various texts.  They have ordered instructions, improved instructions and written a class version of how to make a cup of tea.  Children have developed their SPAG over the past few weeks to help them apply the features of instructional writing better in their own work; focussing on time connectives, verbs, adverbs, sub – headings and capital letters and full stops.

In science, children have explored how humans keep healthy by exercising regularly and upholding good, personal hygiene.  We will move on to looking at materials next.

In French, children have played bingo to recall numbers to 20 and have named different parts of the face.

In topic, pupils have looked at how tornadoes form and what data scientists collect to understand these devastating phenomena better.  We will move on to looking at their destructive force next and how we measure their ferocity
