Class 1 are busy exploring and looking at the changes in Autumn and have created wonderful models to show the difference between farms, villages, towns, cities and a harbour.  The children are using talk in maths, reading and writing.  Reception are focusing on developing their counting skills and Year 1 have been playing maths games to secure their understanding of subtraction.  The whole class have been doing drama and using natural materials to create ways to retell the story of Hansel and Gretel.  Year 1 have sequenced the story and are writing some wonderfully descriptive sentences to summarise the story. In science the children have looked at autumn colours and materials and have completed an experiment into how to get the colour out of different fruit and vegetables to see the range of autumn colours.  Reception have started learning some sounds and have worked really hard on recognising them in a variety of different words.

We are planning our next adventure to explore wildlife that we can find in woodlands and parks which will be on 16Th October.  In the coming weeks we will be looking at stories with these creatures in.
